Making the rounds in Texas and Oklahoma!!

Well, the past couple of days, Caden and I have been traveling around Texas and Oklahoma visiting friends and family. We first headed to Murphy, Texas where my best friend Jamie lives. Jamie has two little boys, Bradley and Collin. Collin and Caden are only a few weeks apart and they really enjoyed playing together. Danny and Jamie fixed me the best steak, taters and veges for dinner. I have always loved being with the Fletcher's!!!!!

As we headed back to my sister's the next day, we stopped in Coppell and had lunch with Caden's other Godfather, Josh. He and Eric have been best friends FOREVER!!!! He enjoyed watching Caden and spending time with us. We are meeting Josh for dinner tonight.

Yesterday, Caden and I drove up to Norman, Oklahoma to hang out with Eric's grandmother (Dondi) and his Aunt Peg. Caden Riley was charming Caden Riley. He now has two more suckers wrapped around his little finger. Dondi gave him all of his favorites----tomatos and grapes and then she gave him a bath. Thank you Dondi!!!!!!!!!!

This morning before our drive home, Aunt Peg took us all out to the horse farm. Caden Riley has never seen a horse and he had a blast. There were also 6 dogs running around that he kept calling them "Bibby"!!!!

Yes, you have to turn your head to watch. But, it is really cute. I get so excited when he does something this cute that I forget which way to turn my camera.

Well, we are in Texas for the next week or so seeing my sister, Hudson, family and friends. For Halloween, Caden is going to be a monkey. My mom made his outfit and he loves it!!!! He left his monkey hat on for over three hours!!!!

On the way to Texas, we went to my parent's house to pick up my Mom and Clementine. !!!!!!!!Clementine had just been to the spa, but she smelled like some old lady's perfume and we had to bathe her again. So, we just put them in the sink together. They were so funny.

Once we got to my sister's house, the boys went crazy!!!! All they have done is run around, hug, play, sing and dance. They love being together. Each morning, they get up and sit in the bed with me and my sister. They drink their milk and watch the Disney channel.

Blind leading the Blind

Yesterday, I had to do two things I have never done before-----get a drug test and get fingerprinted. I am substitute teaching for awhile and these are two requirements. I knew where to go to have my drug test because I have had other tests done there before. Well, I wasn't sure about the exact location of where to get fingerprinted. So, I knew it was on Bull Street and because I love downtown Savannah, I decided to start at the beginning of Bull Street and just enjoy my drive through all of the squares. It was a gorgeous day and I rolled down my windows to take in the beauty of it all. As I rounded Forsythe Park I noticed police lights. I pulled up behind the policeman. I didn't see a wreck or a body laying on the ground (which is not out of charater for Savannah). I soon realized that he was blocking traffic for a group of people crossing the street. I did not take me long to see that this was some sort of parade of people. And then it struck me. They are all BLIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was nice that the police were aiding them so they could take a safe trip to the park and enjoy the day. Thirty minutes later, I was still behind the parade of the blind. Yes, I could have turned down another street, but remember, I was not sure where I was going. It was the blind leading the blind.

My mom, my friends and even the lady in the office I had to go to thought I was
crazy. Let it be known----I am crazy, but I haven't lost my mind completely. I'm just glad this article showed up today in the newspaper!!! Haaaaa, to everyone who didn't believe me at the time.

And then, to top it off. I had a horse pulling a carriage try to pass me. I don't think so buddy!!!

My Prince

Caden Riley can be the most adorable child you have ever met. When he is sweet----he's really sweet. Some nights he eats his dinner at the coffee table like a big boy. He sits in a chair that was painted just for him and he attempts to use his fork. He thinks he is big, so I let him pick where he wants to sit (highchair or big boy chair). If I am eating at the table he sometimes likes to sit up there with me. When he is finished, he takes his plate into the kitchen. This is huge progress with us. Before, when he was finished, he would sling his plate across the room. I really hope we are getting out of that stage.
I am beginning to let him have choi
ces and make some of his own decisions. Sometimes it's the right one and sometimes it isn't. We are constantly learning and growing together.

After he has his bath, he gathers up all of blankets, his "Boo" and his Bup Bup. He heads to my room to relax in my bed. I let him lay in the bed for awhile watching "The Suite LIfe of Zach and Cody". I then bring him his milk and he lays up in the bed like a Prince. He is my little Prince, maybe that's why he acts like on
e. What a life he leads!!!!!!!!!!!

Girl's Dinner (and Caden Riley)

Saturday night I had a couple of girls over for a Tapas party (no, not topless!!!!) We all made appetizers and gathered at my house. My house is the easiest since I'm the only one with a kid. Besides, I LOVE to entertain and cook for people. The food was wonderful and the stories were hilarious!!!!!! As soon as one of the girls sends me a picture I will post it.

One of my girls (Amy) stayed at my house on Saturday night. We always kid Amy because when we were working at the bank, a man had a bad case of "stupid mout
h" and told her she looked like Rod Stewart. We all laugh because she is so pretty and doesn't look like Rod Stewart at all!!! Wellllllllll, except maybe for Sunday morning.

Sunday morning we got crazy and took out into the pouring rain to World Market and Fresh Market. We only stopped at World Market because Fresh Market did not open until 11am. I am sure glad we did!!!! Since I'm only renting my house, I can't paint or wallpaper. But, I found a great compromise. World Market has removable stickers that you can put on your walls. These are awesome and we did some decorating yesterday.

Caden without Daddy

Daddy is training right now. I really believe that Caden knows something is different. I let him sleep with me last night, but I am determined to have him sleep in his bed tonight. It is 10 pm and he has already been up twice. He was completely exhausted when he got home from school today. Ca Ca Medina came over while I was cooking for us and gave him a bath. Well, Caden Riley screamed at the top of his lungs the whole entire time. He knows Rebecca, but because he was so tired he did not cooperate.

He sat in my lap in the big brown chair and we rocked. He just wanted Ma Ma. I still get that way when I am tired or sick. I kissed everyone of his fingers and toes about a hundred times. He is so sweet when he is still-----which is not often. We just rocked and snuggled. He knows things are different right now. He's too smart not to.

Caden Riley

Good Morning!!!!! Please remember that I am a first time blogger---so who knows how this will turn out. I did a no no last night. I put Caden Riley in the bed with me. He woke up screaming about 10:00 last night and I was feeling a little sad and lonely. So, I gathered him, his three blankets, pacifier (AKA Boo) and his Yellow Bup Bup (his puppy for those of you who don't speak "Caden" yet). It was comforting to have his little, warm body next to me in the bed. Comforting until 4:30 this morning when he decided my hair needed to be redone. I don't know when he got so into styling hair, but he loves to fix mine at all hours of the night. I spent all last week getting him back on a schedule and getting him to sleep in his bed all night long. One night, he cried for almost an hour while I sat on the couch and watched some crazy movie in the middle of the night. I sat up and listened until he went to sleep. A mother knows the different cries of her child, and his wasn't a needy cry----it was a cry of determination to have someone pick him and all his night time belongings up and put him in the bed with Ma Ma. Well, I won that round, but I lost last night. That's okay. Today is another day and we will try again.
