Blind leading the Blind

Yesterday, I had to do two things I have never done before-----get a drug test and get fingerprinted. I am substitute teaching for awhile and these are two requirements. I knew where to go to have my drug test because I have had other tests done there before. Well, I wasn't sure about the exact location of where to get fingerprinted. So, I knew it was on Bull Street and because I love downtown Savannah, I decided to start at the beginning of Bull Street and just enjoy my drive through all of the squares. It was a gorgeous day and I rolled down my windows to take in the beauty of it all. As I rounded Forsythe Park I noticed police lights. I pulled up behind the policeman. I didn't see a wreck or a body laying on the ground (which is not out of charater for Savannah). I soon realized that he was blocking traffic for a group of people crossing the street. I did not take me long to see that this was some sort of parade of people. And then it struck me. They are all BLIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was nice that the police were aiding them so they could take a safe trip to the park and enjoy the day. Thirty minutes later, I was still behind the parade of the blind. Yes, I could have turned down another street, but remember, I was not sure where I was going. It was the blind leading the blind.

My mom, my friends and even the lady in the office I had to go to thought I was
crazy. Let it be known----I am crazy, but I haven't lost my mind completely. I'm just glad this article showed up today in the newspaper!!! Haaaaa, to everyone who didn't believe me at the time.

And then, to top it off. I had a horse pulling a carriage try to pass me. I don't think so buddy!!!
